I'm sorry, I just don't get this. I am not even a Star Wars fan, and yet I do not find R2D2 offensive. What could possible cause such animosity? But then again, I didn't think that Jar-Jar was all that awful, either. I thought the whole point of Jar-Jar was to show that ANYONE - even the most annoying dumbass in the world - could still turn out to be a hero if he just had the heart for it, and gave it his best shot. Not a bad role model, in my opinion.
jus folks, dopes, jerks...
ReplyDeleteIndded... the "jerks" tag is missing from this one.
ReplyDeleteYeah, well 'beep boop bloop whirr vrrrrt' to you too, asshole.

Jar Jar WASN'T all that awful. He just had a fairly hilarious or annoying voice, depending on your pov.
DeleteBut I also liked the Gungans in general.
In the words of Spike Lee Jar Jar was nothing but coonery and buffoonery.
ReplyDeleteThis needs a Response Comic from R2D2. Something like:
ReplyDeleteBEEP-BOP-CHIRP-TRILL-BEEP*
*Translation: Bring it, bitch.
Fuck R2D2? No no, fuck you!
ReplyDeleteR2D2 will build his house in your colon, in hell, forever.
He'll be pretty happy with the cameo in the latest Star Trek movie then: http://io9.com/r2-d2-spotted-in-star-trek-into-darkness-1273196593
