  1. Most overrated superhero ever, Bub.

    1. I thought the consensus was Superman. That's why I choose not to label anyone overrated.

I don't think it's the character tricking people into his relevance. I think that's Marvel working hard to get you to buy every damn book he's in.

    2. "I thought the consensus was Superman."

That's the impression I was under as well.

    3. Isn't an oxymoron to say that something is considered by the majority of people to be overrated?

    4. I'd say Wolverine is a close second to Batman in the most overrated club.

    5. I'd consider Superman to be overrated if he was just as popular as Batman or Wolverine. Maybe he used to be that popular (DECADES ago) but he certainly isn't any more. Or at least he certainly doesn't appear to be to my eyes...

  2. I thought Wolverine's REAL super power was that there are 27 hours in his days and 8 days in his weeks. There's no other way he could be in every series Marvel runs.

    1. This comment is funnier than the last few comics.

  3. I thought his real superpower was making Cyclops mad.
Not that you need a superpower for that but.. he's really good at it.

    1. Bravo, sir and/or ma'am. You just won this comments thread.

  4. I remember Wolverne really starting to become "big" during the early 90s (The Chromium Age of comics) with every other surly badass character seeming to be a ripoff of him

  5. You forgot the "it's true" tag...

  6. Finally! For years, I thought I was the only one that felt that way about Wolverine. Now I feel free enough to also say: Venom, worst Spiderman villain ever.

    1. Venom becomes more of an Anti-Hero than a Villain.

    2. Worse than Paste Pot Pete, the Spot, Big Wheel, or the Hypno Hustler!?

    3. Paste Pot Pete is adorable, the Spot is weird, Big wheel is crazy and the Hypno Hustler is hustlin'. Venom? Meh.

    4. Yes, only because how much I've had to see him over the years. His origin is sooooo dumb yet he was pushed in our face as the coolest thing evah! Paste Pot Pete, the Spot, etc. never got the amount of exposure so I didn't learn to hate them as much.

    5. And I should have pointed out that my comments are directed at the original, Eddie Brock venom. Whatever Venom is now is irrelevant to me since he shouldn't have existed in the first place.

    6. Aww c'mon venom IS the coolest spidey villain ever... So visceral

  7. I tell my friend from the local pub, who's only a so-so comics fan, how Wolverine is THE example of everything that's gone wrong with superhero comics... it's like I'm talking another language to him.

  8. This is how I've always felt about Deadpool.

  9. I wonder what lame-assed, second-rate supporting-cast character the jokers in this thread think is more "relevant" than Wolverine. You guys remind me of the "smarks" on wrestling forums who do nothing but piss and moan about John Cena, while Cena is raking in money hand over fist and bringing millions in donations to Make-A-Wish...

    1. "Overrated" and "relevant" are two different topics.

Personally, I prefer Spider-Man, or even the current Venom (Flash Thompson).

  10. Why do people say characters are or aren't relevant? Relevant to what? It's comics folks, the whole point is that it's irrelevant.

    1. I think a character who is no longer relevant is probably someone who used to be really popular, but not anymore (like Spawn).
