actually frank and bill senkievitch (i spelled that name wrong i know it) were once supposed to do a wonder woman story entitled "bondage" exploring WW's early kinky bondage history so there's always the chance of that happening maybe....
The guy is pretty open and bold about his tastes...but there's nothing wrong with that. If he were half as judgmental as some of the posters above though, I'd slap a 'jerks' tag on him in no time.
Why are his tastes "rank"? What a lot of prudes you are. So he wants to see some cartoon women tied up, big deal. In the world of sex, or even just the world of comics, that's pretty tame.
What a creeper, I wish I could have been there to slap off his damn hat. Love the anon who is so proud of his proclivities that he can't leave his name btw.
Also, if you are all commenting that he's sick and disgusting but at the same time listing off comics that actually fulfill his request, mayyyyybe you should have another think about that. ;)
But seriously, portraying the abuse of A woman in a modern comic will never be worse than the endorsement of dismissing ALL women in so many 'classic' comics.
and you responded "most anything by frank miller." perhaps.
ReplyDeleteBoy, this one's just... uncomfortable.

ReplyDeleteEmpowered
ReplyDeleteDid you refer him to back issues of Wonder Woman?
ReplyDelete"Most any Wonder Woman comics, especially the older stuff." Right?
ReplyDeleteCAPTCHA: obbeerf (the sound I make ordering a beer after I've had a few)
Man, I love that setup for comics!
ReplyDeleteGotta, say that may be one of the best illustrations I've seen, especially as far as it matching to the words...
ReplyDeleteI think he's talking about Empowered, which is a delightful romp.
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for the Empowered props - a comic born out of one too many 'lass in bondage' commission requests. Probably all coming from THAT GUY.
ReplyDeleteWonder if he has She-Hulk issue 40, where she's forced to jump rope by S.H.E.I.L.D.
ReplyDeleteTarot, Golden Age Wonder Woman, Empowered and Alias call meet that request.
ReplyDeleteStill the reason why I see it so easy to hate Purple Man
ew. nuff said.
ReplyDelete. . . This guy makes me so uncomfortable, I actually scooted away from my laptop after reading the strip.
ReplyDeleteWhat a heteronormative individual. Makes me sick.
ReplyDeleteThe word heteronormative is gay.
ReplyDeleteThere are a number of reasons he should make you sick, but I don't think that's one.
ReplyDeleteThe guy is pretty open and bold about his tastes...but there's nothing wrong with that. If he were half as judgmental as some of the posters above though, I'd slap a 'jerks' tag on him in no time.
ReplyDeletedon't mistake bold for gross and disturbing. hehe
ReplyDeleteI was going to say Empowered too
ReplyDelete"The guy is pretty open and bold about his tastes...but there's nothing wrong with that."
ReplyDeleteExcept when his tastes are fairly rank and he's desperate that you should help him fulfill them.
Why are his tastes "rank"? What a lot of prudes you are. So he wants to see some cartoon women tied up, big deal. In the world of sex, or even just the world of comics, that's pretty tame.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking empowered too
ReplyDeleteDunno. While my first thought was Empowered, too, I'd like to think any fan of the humor in that would be able to come up with a better summary...
ReplyDeleteWhy does that guy need to leave his name? What difference does it make? It's an opinion. Just because it doesn't match yours doesn't mean it's wrong.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you are all commenting that he's sick and disgusting but at the same time listing off comics that actually fulfill his request, mayyyyybe you should have another think about that. ;)
ReplyDeleteHas he ever heard of a place called 'Japan'?
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, portraying the abuse of A woman in a modern comic will never be worse than the endorsement of dismissing ALL women in so many 'classic' comics.
if he didn't walk out with a bunch of empowered comics, you're not doing your job.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what everyone else has been saying... Empowered is the exact comic he was looking for.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me... really need to borrow the 3rd Empowered book from my girlfriend...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH.
