  1. I'm all for having your own opinions but if you haven't seen it STFU

  2. Its sad when people do this. If you have not seen it yet, or have not even bothered to get the gist of what it is (and not from a "friend"), you have no right to say how it was to others

  3. It's hard advice to follow though, not commenting on what you don't know. If you don't believe me, why don't you tell me right now how you feel about Miley Cyrus?

Yeah? Have you listened to her? No, me neither, but I can tell you it probably sucks.

    See?

  4. Great flick, but there are too many parallels to alien nation to be a coincidence. So the idea isn't exactly "fresh" I still think District 9 is a great flick.

  5. Well, District 9 is pretty explicitly and obviously an Apartheid parable. Alien Nation draws on Apartheid and other cases of purely human segregation for much of its theme, so naturally there will be parallels.

That said, while I liked the movie, the DVD release was disappointingly sparse in terms of extras.

  6. "Well, District 9 is pretty explicitly and obviously an Apartheid parable."

...if you don't know much about current events in South Africa.

If you *do* know something about current events in south Africa, then District 9 is pretty explicitly and obviously a parable about the controversies over immigration from other African countries to South Africa.

  7. There's no way a real human said that exact phrase.
