The whole point to "The Walking Dead" has ALWAYS been (in creator Robert Kirkman's own words), "You could never do a zombie MOVIE that never ends... but a comic book. That could work.
"That was the idea behind The Walking Dead. It's my zombie movie that never ends."
If you want something different: get something else.
I haven't seen the show, but I would probably agree. I always like the beginnigs of horror movies. Usually some well adjusted small town families with relatable problems. When the horror begins it's good too. There are just hints, and the movie is about how these relatable people respond to fear and uncertainty. "did I hear something or didn't I". But in the end horror movies never deliver. The horror is usually disappointing entity, and the end action is pointless running and loud music scares.
Idea about a series where the thing is stuck at the most boring phase where the threath and horror are established, but no clever or even releasing ending is near. So is this show about bathroom mirror scares with loud music episode after episode, or should I order cable to watch this whenever they show this in Finland.

ReplyDeleteBesides, walking dead = best show ever
I feel that way about aliens in "The Event"
ReplyDeleteHe has a point, actually.
ReplyDeleteI actually said that to my husband... but that's because I have a major, inexplicable phobia of zombies. And I was joking.
ReplyDeleteThe Event is way lamer. Aliens or Heroes hybrid. bleh.
ReplyDeleteI think even without the zombies, if it's just about end of days and survival, it still has a nice plot to it.
