I try not to sterotype people and as they come into the store by assuming that I know exactly what they came in for, but the fact is nobody in a tuxedo has ever come in here looking for High Times.
You see pot smokers every day, you just don't realize it because most of us don't buy High Times and most of us don't dress any differently than everyone else.
"I would guess that nobody in a tuxedo ever goes to a comic store."
I actually went into my FLGS wearing a nice suit and tie once, because I was early for a nearby wine & cheese (nerd: doesn't understand "fashionably late") and wanted to kill some time. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a second look, because honestly, you get all kinds.
I once went to a Heroclix game at a comic shop while wearing a tuxedo, before driving on to a costume party. I explained that I was trying to raise the bar...

I would guess that nobody has ever gone in there in a tuxedo, and if they have, they're weird as fuck.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they just assumed you were in some sort of cosplay?
ReplyDeleteSo what do the tuxedo-attired customers normally look for?
