I had a friend who, back in the last few years of high school and into university, used to watch all kinds of shitty Canadian movies and TV shows, no matter how bad they were just because they were Canadian. I jokingly warned him that if he kept patronising them [because his viewership made such a difference] Canadian visual media wouldn't get any better. Come to think of it, even though he got over his Canadian TV and movie obsession he refused to shop at WAL*MART and Starbucks when they showed up here...until he realised they had better prices and coffee, repectively.
